Does Maltego own, process, or store data? 🔗︎
No, Maltego does not own, build, modify, or store any data that is used for investigations in our products. Maltego facilitates easy access to existing OSINT or third-party data sources and brings data from these dispersed sources into one user interface. We rely on trusted data providers and data partners to ensure all the data integrated with Maltego products is up-to-date and relevant.
Maltego does not monetize customer or user data, either. We comply strictly with GDPR in the way we process and store customer and user data. Learn more about our Data Privacy Policy here.
Maltego is a powerful tool. How do you ensure it does not fall into the wrong hands? 🔗︎
At Maltego, we act ethically and consciously to ensure we are empowering investigators whose work makes the world safer. We comply strictly with the German embargo and anti-money laundering laws, which prevent us from selling to individuals and organizations based in high-risk countries. We also conduct personal vetting for all Enterprise sales to the best of our abilities in order to understand each buyer’s motivation and use case. This helps us evaluate whether the intended usage of Maltego is within ethical boundaries.

The Maltego Organization plan is designed for large teams and organizations. Through the Maltego Organization plan, you can equip your team with browser-based and desktop-based investigative capabilities to run quick OSINT searches, conduct mass data link and social network analysis, monitor public safety in real time, and enjoy cloud-based collaboration and file management. The Maltego Organization plan also comes with out-of-the-box data access to ensure your teams have the most essential and relevant intelligence for cyber threat intelligence and cybercriminal investigations.

What is in the Maltego Professional plan? 🔗︎
The Maltego Professional plan allows small teams of investigators to quickly conduct and collaborate on OSINT investigations as well as mass data link analysis across browsers and devices. The Maltego Professional plan also comes with a set of out-of-the-box data access to common cyber threat intelligence feeds and OSINT data sources, so that your team can get started with investigations right away.

What are the Pro, Enterprise, and Enterprise On-premise plans? 🔗︎
The Maltego Pro, Maltego Enterprise, and Maltego Enterprise On-premise plans are part of Maltego’s previous offering. As of May 2024, they are no longer available for purchase.
For small teams of professional investigators, we now offer the Professional plan, which allows more powerful investigative capabilities and out-of-the-box access to powerful data sources. Learn more about the Maltego Professional plan here or purchase it directly from the webshop.
For large enterprise teams and government agencies, we now offer the Maltego Organization plan, which includes vastly more investigative capabilities across devices and browsers, and across the digital and physical landscapes. Can I renew my existing Pro, Enterprise, and Enterprise On-premise plans? 🔗︎

What are Maltego Classic or XL? 🔗︎
Maltego Classic and XL are previous commercial license editions of Maltego. Maltego Classic and Maltego XL are no longer available and cannot be renewed.
In September 2020, we introduced the Maltego One edition as a part of the Pro and Enterprise plans. Maltego One comes with the capabilities of Maltego XL.
What is Maltego Community Edition (CE)? 🔗︎
Maltego Community Edition (CE) is one of the Maltego plans that provides users with free access to Maltego Graph, featuring essential capabilities and data for OSINT investigations, enabling them to explore relationships between data points through visual link analysis.
Notably, following the release of Maltego Graph version 4.8.0, the use of Maltego Community Edition is allowed commercially and has no restrictions on the number of Entities pasted on the canvas.

What is Maltego CaseFile? 🔗︎
CaseFile is a legacy version of Maltego. It will remain available to users running Maltego version 4.7.0 and earlier. These users may continue to use the CaseFile tool to visualize connections in their offline data.
Following the release of Maltego Graph version 4.8.0, CaseFile will no longer be available as a separate product, however, CaseFile users can continue to benefit from the offline data analysis features under a Community Edition license.
CaseFile users who have updated to version 4.8.0 can create a Maltego ID account and log in for free as Community Edition users, gaining access to Maltego Graph which includes previously available Casefile features for offline data analysis.
I want to purchase Maltego or download the CE version. Why can’t I find my country on the list in the form? 🔗︎
In order to comply with the relevant export laws and regulations, registration for and usage of the Maltego Community Edition is not available in certain countries.
